Totally Ticks Me Off Tuesday, the post where I get to rant, complain and just plain scream about what has ticked me off.
Best Buy.
Seriously that should be nuff said because I think every single person on Earth has some Best Buy customer service story that has ticked them off, ours happened yesterday.
The hubs bought something online and paid for it with gift cards. He chose the in-store pick up option instead of having the item shipped. Item will be waiting for you at the customer service desk for pick up. Yea, right he waited over thirty minutes before someone finally figured out how to do an in-store pick up (this option has been around for over ten years, it's not brand new). He brings the item home and guess what? It doesn't work.
Now here's the part you are not going to believe. The "manager" would not issue him new gift cards for the return. Nope, she made him go home and dig through our trash cans to find his two gift cards. After much arguing between the two of them she told him that was his only choice and handed him his receipt that showed the money went back to his original gift cards and said there was nothing else she was doing. Can you believe that? So yes, he dug through our garbage yesterday. I was ticked. I called corporate today and when they picked up I said,
Yes, I have a question.
Go ahead.
Yes, if I buy something in the store with a gift card and I need to return it do you guide me to where your dumpster is and ask me to find my original gift cards?
(Silence) No m'am we wouldn't do that.
Well, have I got a story for you...

I would be beyond postal at the store, and 1/2 way to 25 to life by the time I was off the phone with corporate. You handled it well, kudos to you and the hubbs.
Yes....Best Buy I despise and will not shop there. That is so lame! Ugh...it ticks me off too

Really? You are just going to stop there and not tell me what they did to resolve it? You are kidding right? Whatever. :) I bet whoever answered your call had absolutely no idea what to say to you. That is too funny!
I love calling corporate offices to tell on some idiot that should have learned the concept of customer service on their way up the ladder to manager position! The problem is, finding out if corporate actually did something to resolve the problem. (manager)
I stopped buying from them years and years ago. What a mess, I would have been more than ticked. I hope you were able to get something out of calling corp. :)
What happened to the customer is always right?
Back when Circuit City was around, we always took advantage of their "pick it up in store option" because if they didn't have it ready in 24 minutes, you got a $24 gift card. We got at least 5 from them over time. I don't see why stores have this when they can't handle it. And we don't shop Best Buy ... and will continue to do so!
Wow, what a pain in the butt! I can't believe they couldn't give him a new gift card. When I have purchased things with gift cards, they often offer to destroy them. What happens then?
That would tick me off too, for real. Bad customer service pisses me off like no other.
Wow, that's awful! I've had a few good experiences at Best Buy but a few really bad ones, too. Sigh.
Oh, I'm surprised your husband didn't rip that lady a new one! That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of, I hate Best Buy!!!
